Red chutney for idli dosa || Onion tomato chutney for dosa idli
Onion tomato chutney is one of the popular unique recipes of South India. Just like coconut chutney is popular, similarly, this chutney is also very famous in South India. You can serve this chutney with Dosa Idli and Vada. Tomato is used the most in it. Along with tomato, garlic, onion and some other ingredients are also used. So let us see how to make tomato chutney.
Idli, Dosa Chutney
PREPARATION METHOD
- First of all, heat a pan and put two spoons of oil in it.
- Now add gram dal, urad dal, curry leaves, red chillies and onion, garlic one by one and fry them all till they become golden brown.
- Now add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, salt according to taste
- Cover and cook till tomatoes cooked completely
- Now keep it aside to cool down. After cooling down, grind them.
- Put one spoon of oil in the tadka pan.Then add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, curry leaves, dry red chillies and fry for a while.
- Now pour this over the chutney.
- Your tomato chutney is ready to eat with Idli, Dosa.

- Tomato- 3
- Oil - 2 tbsp
- Garlic - 10 cloves
- Onion Chopped - 1
- Curry leaves- 10
- Gram dal - 1 teasp
- Urad dal - 1 teasp
- Dry chilli - 4
- Salt - ½ teasp
- Turmeric powder - ¼ teasp

- Oil -2 tbsp
- Curry Leaves, Mustard seeds, Cuminseeds and Dry red chilli

- You can fry all the ingredients separately. Remember that all the ingredients should be roasted well. otherwise the chutney will not tasty.
