Vermicelli Upma Recipe || Semiya upma || Breakfast recipe
Semiya Upma is a healthy and quick recipe. In this, we are making it very healthy and tasty by adding a lot of vegetables.
In this recipe I have used carrots, beans, cauliflower, green peas, capsicum and onions along with semiya. Apart from these vegetables, you can also add sweetcorn. So let's know how to make it...
INGREDIENTS
- Vermicelli (semiya) - 1 Cup 250g
- Beans - ¼ Cup
- Capsicum - ¼ Cup
- Sweetcorn - ¼ Cup
- Yellow Capsicum - ¼ Cup
- Red Capsicum - ¼ Cup
- Cabbage - ¼ Cup
- Green peas - ¼ Cup
- Carrot - ¼ Cup
- Salt - 1 tbsp
- Oil - 2 tbsp
- Butter - 1 tbsp
- Water - 500 ml
- Turmeric Powder - ½ teasp
- Red chili powder - ½ teaspn
- Noodles masala - 1 tbspn
- Lemon juice - 1 teasp
PREPARATION - METHOD
- Chop all vegetables in small pieces
- Heat 2 tbsp of oil / butter in pressure cooker
- Roast peanuts and take it out from cooker , keep aside
- Roast semiya for two minutes or till golden brown
- Take it out from cooker ,keep aside
- Add one more tbsp of oil in pressure cooker ,add mustard seeds, cumin seeds ,let it crackle
- Add chopped onion , fry for few seconds
- Add chopped vegetables ,green chilli , curry leaves a, turmeric powder,red chilli powder and 1 tbsp of salt
- Cook for 2 mins in medium flame
- Add water and roasted semiya
- Cook for 10 mins or 1 whistles
- Open lid , Garnish with coriander leaves, serve hot
