Bitter gourd masala curry || Karela ki sabzi
Bitter gourd is one of the healthiest vegetable.You can cook this vegetable in many ways like bitter gourd fry, chips, curry and juice.I am making masala curry of bitter gourd.You can serve this curry with roti, chapati or cooked rice.So let's start the recipe...
PREPARATION METHOD
- Wash bittergourd before chopping
- Chop into 1 inch thick pieces
- Throw away the last pieces on both sides
- Heat a pan add 3 tbsp of mustard oil
- After heating oil add chopped bitter gourd pieces and chopped onion
- Sprinkle salt, Saute it well
- After frying 1 to 2 minutes, flip another side. Fry both sides till get light brown on medium flame
- Now keep it out, place it in a plate
- Fry in batches according to your requirement of curry
- In same pan put tomato puree, gingergarlic paste, red chili, turmeric powder, curry masala and salt
- At this time no need to add oil
- Add ½ cup of water and mix well
- Close lid and cook for 5 to 7 minutes till gravy is thicken
- Saute properly, Mash everything well
- Now add fried bitter gourd pieces. Mix well
- Cook for 1 min on medium flame
- Add ½ cup of water and 1 teasp of maggi masala, mix well
- Close lid, Cook for 2 minutes on low flame
- You can keep gravy or dry according to your choice
- Now ready to serve with cooked rice or chapati

- Tomato puree - 1 Cup
- Ginger garlic paste - 1 teasp
- Turmeric powder - 1 teasp
- Red chili powder - 1 tbsp
- Salt - 1 teasp
- Curry Masala - 1 teasp
- Maggi masala - 1 teasp
- Water - ½ cup
