Rajma masala curry recipe with detailed instructions and video
Rajma recipe is one of the recipes eaten with rice in india. This recipe is more liked in North India. Rajma masala is very tasty to eat if prepared with some tips and in the right way. So let's know how to make it.
PREPARATION METHOD
- Clean rajma with water
- Now soak for 8 hour
- While soaking add ¼ teasp of baking soda
- After soaked drain excess water
- Put soaked rajma in a pressure cooker
- Pour 1 and ½ glass of water
- Now add 1 black cardamom, 1 inches cinnamon stick , 6 to 7 black pepper, 1 teasp of salt and ½ teasp of ghee
- Cook for 3 to 4 whistles
- Now we will prepare gravy
- Take 1 tbsp of ghee and 2 tbsp of oil in a pan
- Heat ,add chopped onion fry till golden brown
- Add onion gingergarlic paste, saute for a minute
- Add red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, kashmiri red chilli powder and ½ teasp of salt
- Saute for few seconds. Keep low flame
- Now add tomato puree and mix it well
- Cook for 5 mins on medium flame
- Add this masala into cooked rajma in the cooker
- If needed add some hot water
- Add 1 teasp of garam masala ,mix it well
- Give a nice stir
- Close lid and cook for 2 whistles
- After cooling 5 mins , open the lid and lightly mash with the help of potato masher
- Mix everything well
- Now ready to serve with cooked rice

- Rajma 250 g
- Tomato puree 1 cup
- Onion gingergarlic paste 2 tbsp
- Onion chopped ½ cup
- Red Chilli Powder 1 tbsp
- Coriander Powder 1 tbsp
- Garam masala 1 teasp
- Kashmiri red chilli powder ½ teasp
- Turmeric Powder 1 teasp
- Black pepper 6 pieces
- Black cardamom 1 piece
- Cinnamon stick 1 Piece
- Baking soda 1 teasp
- Salt 1 teasp
- Ghee 1 tbsp + Oil 2 tbsp
- Special tips :- While serving put some finely chopped onion on top
