Suji Upma Recipe
PREPARATION METHOD
- Chop all vegetables into small pieces. Heat a pan or kadhai and add 1 tablespoon of oil or ghee. Roast the suji rava until golden brown over medium heat. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add another tablespoon of oil or ghee and heat it. Add mustard seeds, curry leaves, green chilli, and chopped onions. Sauté for a few seconds. Then, add the chopped vegetables, except for the tomato. Saute well, add salt, and cover with a lid. Cook for 2 minutes over medium heat.
- Afterwards, open the lid and add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and chopped tomatoes. Saute well and cook for 5 minutes (covered).
- Next, add water and bring it to a boil. Add the roasted suji and mix well. Keep the heat low to medium, cover with a lid, and cook for 3 minutes on low heat.
- Ready to Serve tomato rava upma with coconut chutney

- Suji Rava - 250g
- Carrot - 1
- Tomato - 4 medium size
- Green Peas - ½ bowl
- Green chilli - 2
- Onion - 1
- Curry leaves - 8
- Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
- Red chilli Powder - 1 tsp
- Oil/Ghee - 2tbsp
- Cumin seeds - ½ tsp
- Mustard seeds - ½ tsp
- Salt - 1 tsp
- Water - 500ml

SOOJI UPMA STEP METHOD
Chop all vegetables in small pieces
- Heat a pan/kadhai. Add 1 tbsp oil/ghee. Add Suji rava roast till golden brown on medium flame
- Take it out from the pan, keep it aside. Now the same pan Add 1 tbsp oil/ ghee and heat it. Add mustard seeds, curry leaves, green chilli and chopped onions. Fry for a few seconds
- Add chopped vegetables except tomato Saute well, add salt and close the lidCook for 2 mins on medium flame
- Now open the lid and add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and chopped tomatoes
- Saute well, cook for 5 mins (close lid). Now add water and bring it to a boil
- Add roasted suji and mix it well. Close lid and cook for 3 mins (keep low flame). Ready to Serve tomato rava upma with Coconut Chutney
