Tomato Rasam is a recipe of South India. It is a recipe eaten with cooked rice. Rasam is made in different ways. It is cooked with ripe tomatoes, tamarind, water and some spices. Rasam is sour and spicy. It is juicy so that it is easy to eat with rice.
Prep-Method
- After thoroughly cleaning the tomatoes cut them into pieces
- put tamarind and hot water in a bowl and soak them for 5 mins
- lightly roast lentils, cumin, coriander, ginger, onions in a pan and grind all the ingredients by adding some water to the mixer jar
- Heat and add 2 tablespoons oil, add cumin, mustard seeds ,onion , green chillies ,curry leaves and fry for 1 minute
- add chopped tomatoes ,close lid and cook on medium flame for 5 minutes
- add salt, red chilli powder, tamarind and water, cook for another 2 minutes
- garnish with coriander leaves
- Tomato Rasam is ready to Serve

- tamarind 30g
- Water, 1/2 Ltr
- Red Chilli Powder 1 tbsp
Tempering Ingredients
- Oil 2 teaspoons o
- mustard seeds 1/2 teasp
- cumin seeds 1/2 teaspoon
- onion 1/2 cup
- curry leaves 8
Paste Ingredients
- Arhar (tuwar) dal 2 tbsp
- Cumin 1/2 teaspoon
- ginger 1 inch piece
- onion 1/4 cup
