Coconut chutney recipe |How to prepare coconut chutney |Nariyal chutney for dosa
Coconut chutney is very much liked in South India. It is served with Idli, Dosa, Vada.
PREP-METHOD
- Take a grinder jar
- Put fresh grated coconut, curry leaves ,green chilli, roasted chick pea and ginger
- Add 1/2 cup of water or coconut water
- Grind into fine paste
- Now replace in a bowl
- Add salt, mix it well
- Now heat a tempering pan
- Add coconut oil, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, dry chilli, curry leaves and black gram dal
- Roast for 1 min
- Pour this tempering on prepared chutney and mix well
- Now ready to serve
It is delicious to eat and goes well with South Indian dishes. Fresh coconut is used for this coconut chutney along with gram dal, green chillies, curry leaves, ginger etc. After preparing the chutney, it is tempered on it. INGREDIENTS
- Fresh coconut grated - 1 Cup
- Roasted chick pea - ¼ Cup
- Curry leaves - 5
- Green chilli - 2
- Ginger - 1 inch piece
- Water - ½ cup
- Salt - ½ teasp
Tempering Ingredients
- Coconut Oil - 2 tbsp
- Mustard seeds - ¼ teasp
- Cumin seeds - ¼ teasp
- Dry red chilli - 1
- Black gram dal - ¼ teasp
NOTES
- Always use fresh coconut
- Use dry coconut instead of fresh coconut
- You can use DESICCATED COCONUT for chutney
- For more tastier chutney grind with coconut water
