Rice kheer recipe in pressure cooker |How to prepare rice kheer recipe
Kheer recipe is one of the famous Indian dessert recipe. It is prepared with rice ,milk and sugar along with other spices .It can be served after meal as dessert
Traditionally, rice is cooked in milk, after the rice is cooked, it is cooked by adding milk, sugar and some spices. But it is a long process.
In this way you will be able to prepare Kheer in a pressure cooker in less time.
PREPARATION - METHOD
- Wash rice twice with water and soak for 30 minutes
- Heat 1 tbsp ghee in pressure cooker
- Now add soaked rice and bayleave in this
- Fry for few seconds
- Add water, soaked rice and cinnamon
- Mix everything well
- Cook for 2 mins without lid on medium flame
- Close the lid and cook for 4 to 5 whistles on low to medium flame
- After 5 minutes ,open the lid
- Now add boiled milk, sugar ,cardamom powder and cloves
- Cook again for 5 minutes
- Turn off gas flame ,Keep aside
- Now add pinch of salt ,mix well
- In another pan add two tbsp of ghee
- After the ghee is hot, add cashew nuts and raisins , fry till it becomes light golden.
- Add this to the cooked kheer
- Garnish with chopped pistachio or almonds
- Now serve cold or hot as per your choice

- Kheer rice - 100g
- Boiled milk - 500 ml
- Water - 400 ml
- Cardamom powder - 1 teasp
- Cloves - 4
- Bay leaves - 2
- Cinnamon - 1 piece
- Sugar - 1 Cup (200g)
- Salt - 1 pinch
- Cashew nut - 8
- Raisins - ¼ cup
- Ghee - 2 tbsp
- Pista & almond - 5 to 6 chopped
